Certified Internal Auditor

According to the IIA’s 2017 Internal Audit Compensation Study (based on US responses), CIAs earn $38,000 more in the U.S. than professionals in the same position without the CIA certification. The Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) certification is the only globally recognized certification in internal audit and it is held by over 150,000 professionals in more than 170 countries. Earning this certification demonstrates your competency in carrying out professional audits, your knowledge in organizational governance, your expertise in the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and your credibility and trust-worthiness as an internal auditor. The CIA Program is split into three independent parts, each having its own exam. The IIA has identified certain elements of the CIA syllabus that need to be updated and aligned with changes in the global business environment and internal audit practices. The revisions will affect the CIA exams starting January 2019. Any exams you have passed before January 2019 will not be affected and you won’t need to retake them.
