Pre-Requisites of the Certification
There are 55 states in the US which are offering CPA. Every state has its own criteria of eligibility for CPA. Some states require 120 credit hours, some require 150 credit hours and some even require 24 credit hours in Accounting and 24 credit hours in business subjects. The eligibility depends upon your previous educational studies. However, in general if you are holding any one of the following educational qualifications, then you are eligible for CPA like;
1. 3 years B.Com/BBA with the following courses;
   ✓  Auditing
   ✓  Taxation
   ✓  Cost/Management Accounting
   ✓  Financial Accounting
2. 4 Years graduation with major in Financial Accounting
3. 3 years graduation in any discipline with Masters (MBA/M.Com) major in Financial Accounting

CPA has four courses;

✓  Auditing & Attestation (AUD)
✓  Financial Accounting & Reporting (FAR)
✓  Regulations (REG)


Exam Format
Business Environment & Concepts (BEC)
✓  Computer Based Examination
✓  MCQs - 50%, TBS(Task Based Simulations) - 35% & WC(Written Communications - 15%
✓  2 Booklets of MCQs of 31 each
✓  2 Booklets of task based questions (2 simulations each)
✓  1 Testlet of 3 Writeen Communications, One of which written response in the form of memo
✓  Total Time allowed for this exam is 4 hours


Auditing & Attestation (AUD)/Financial Accounting & Reporting (FAR)/Regulations(REG)
✓  Computer Based Examination
✓  MCQs - 50%, TBS(Task Based Simulations) - 50%
✓  2 Booklets of MCQs of 36 each for AUD
✓  2 Booklets of MCQs of 33 each for FAR
✓  2 Booklets of MCQs of 38 each for REG
✓  8 task based questions (simulations) for each AUD/FAR/REG
✓  Total Time allowed for this exam is 4 hours
