The course offers an eight-day training programme for health, education and social care practitioners working with children and young people. It has been designed to teach, nurture and create a sustainable approach to managing special needs in education and other learning, health and social care settings interested in developing an inclusion environment for all children and young people. The course focuses on the developmental aspects of the whole child.
The course can be delivered over the academic year and involves a process of learning, experience and reflective practice.
It is appropriate to professionals working with infants, children and young people, and candidates chose whether to specialise in a key stage group only or focus fully on the entire developmental period.
The programme is based on the latest evidence and best practice and is informed by child development, neuropsychology, education and clinical psychology
